The Giant Nut is the trophy given to the BattleBot/team that has won the tournament. BattleBots compete for placement in the 32 placement spots and depending on how well you did you get a high or low seed. Once 32 BattleBots have gotten into their placement the tournament starts. It is single elimination, so if you lose your out. The bracket gets smaller and smaller until 2 BattleBots fight to the death for the giant nut.
The Golden Bolt is won through 8 different competitors earning a spot in the final tournament. 3 of the most recent giant nut winners will already have their spaces in the final tournament. 5 of the other spots is earned by winning a slugfest which is an eight BattleBot, single elimination side tournament. Once all the positions are taken, the eight BattleBots fight in a final tournament for the golden bolt.
